Our Not for Profit Services
Rehoboth Christian Ministries offers services to "developmentally disabled" adults and children based on the principles stated in Bylaw No. 1 of Rehoboth "A Christian Association for the Mentally Handicapped of Alberta":

"On the basis of the Bible, the revealed Word of God, and in response to the Word of God with whom is not favoritism and manifest in the mercy of Jesus Christ, His Son and our Savior, the members of the Association affirm their responsibility to serve God and to serve their fellowmen through mutual
respect and compassion.

No human beings, regardless of their handicaps should be denied dignity of life or opportunity for meaningful and fulfilling life experiences"

"Rehoboth" is a Hebrew name which means "room" (Genesis 26:22). Just as the Lord "made room" for his people, so also the founders of the Association want to "make room" for people who have been labeled as "developmentally disabled". Rehoboth Christian Ministries exists to declare and demonstrate God's love and grace to people who have been denied full participation in the mainstream of life because of their mental or physical disabilities.

Equality in Action
Rehoboth Christian Ministries adheres to the fundamental premise that there must be equity for all people regardless of their level of intellectual functioning, physical appearance and abilities, social awareness and skills, degree of dependency, physical and mental health, social status, income, race, color, religious beliefs, or cultural background. All people have equal rights, freedoms, opportunities and privileges as citizens in society. The responsibility of the Christian community is to implement the will of God in terms of asserting the dignity and equality of developmentally disabled individuals and to assist them in developing their potentials towards greater independence and a better quality of life. Rehoboth "A Christian Association serving the mentally handicapped of Alberta was formed in 1975 by members of the Christian community to offer services to individuals with disabilities and their families by meeting the objectives in our Mission Statement.

As an accredited agency we serve developmentally disabled individuals in many Alberta communities. We humbly accept the trust families place in us in the care of their children. Each individual is an image bearer of the Creator and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. It is our belief that in meeting God's demands as taught by Jesus Christ we meet and exceed standards set by society.

"Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For he who is least among you all-he is the greatest." (Luke 9:48)
